Cafeteria Changes Look, Food Remains the Same

This fall, students returned to USAO to find a newly designed cafeteria.

The cafeteria area has not been remodeled since the late 1990s.  “It was just time for an update,” said General Manager Tammy Warner.

The floor plan has taken it from a cafeteria feel to more of a restaurant type of environment.  Although the food has not changed, according to Warner, the layout allows them to offer a greater variety of options to the students.

Students have reacted “very well,” said Warner, “they walk in and just say, ‘Wow.’”

“I like it! It’s a lot better,” said sophomore sociology major Kali Cook.

Freshman elementary education major Sarah Tibbett, “I really like how everything is set up.  It’s very walk-through friendly.”

Something does seem to be missing, however, from last year.  There are no more trays.  “It is better for the environment,” Warner said.  People have asked about the trays, but there have been no real complaints, according to Warner.

The cafeteria is open Monday through Friday for breakfast from 7:30 – 9 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., and dinner from 5 – 7 p.m.  Saturday and Sunday, it is open for brunch from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., and dinner from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
