Drovers Advance To Next Round In Tourney And End SCUs Season

USAO Senior Tyler Reynolds scored 24 points and recorded eight assists to lead the Drovers to a 76-66 victory over the Eagles of Southwestern Christian.

Eagle’s scorer, Tyler Turner, was bullied all night by the Drover defense. Turner ended the game with only three points, 11 points under his game average.

USAO dominated the first half of play, leading the Eagles 43-25 going into halftime. Good bench play from the Drovers was key for them in the first half, outscoring the Eagles bench 10-2. Senior Tyler Reynolds led all scorers with 17. The USAO defense held Southwestern Christian’s Tyler Turner to zero points for the half.

In the second half, Southwestern Christian, led by Austin Turner, who had 17 points on the night, slowly chipped away at the lead. In the first half the Drovers bench showed up but the Southwestern Christian bench responded outscoring the Drovers 20-4 in the second half. However, USAO dominated the points in the paint outscoring the Eagles 30-22, thanks to Senior Jahseth Lloyd who obtained 14 points.

The Eagles season ends as the Drovers advance to the next round in the tournament to face Saint Gregory’s at 8 p.m. tomorrow night.
