Drover Baseball Team Split Series With Falcons Over Weekend

The Drovers’ baseball team lost to Friend on Friday, 7-4, but bounced back winning the second game on Saturday, 5-1 to cause a series split.

In the first game, USAO (5-2) went into the top of the fourth inning with a 4-1 lead over Friend University (4-1), but the Falcons woke up and went on to score six unanswered runs to win the game, 7-4.

Senior Eddie Malone went 3-for-5 at the plate, scoring a run. Senior Warren Stehn also produced on the offensive side, hitting a home run and scored two runs.

In the second game, the Drovers got started like they did in the first game against Friend, taking the early 5-0 lead going into the fourth inning. This time USAO didn’t let the game slip away.

Senior Chris Fischer and the Drovers defense only allowed three hits and one run in the game. Fischer struck out 10 batters and only walked three.
