The Drovers (9-10, 6-6) stunned the Lions of Southwestern Assemblies of God (19-3, 11-2) at home, 88-80.

The Lions beat USAO in their first meeting earlier in the season, 80-71, but the Drovers weren’t going to take a loss on their home court.

The Drovers went into halftime with the lead, 43-40. However, the Lions pestered USAO with a full-court press to start the second half, which caused their offense to have a slow start, but they eventually figured out the changes they needed to make and went on an offensive run, leading by as much as ten points.

Senior Shavon Scott ended the night scoring a career-high 28 points. Scott shot 4-5 from behind the arc and shot a perfect 8-8 from the free-throw line.

The Lions leading scorer and leading scorer for the game was Dominque Rambo who scored 36 points.

The Drovers travel to Cedar Hill, Texas, to face Northwood University on Feb. 6 and return home on Feb. 10 to face a Oklahoma Baptist team who beat them last week.
