Tuesday night at 6:30, the Trend’s Editor-in-Chief Lauren Carter will present her senior communication project in the Nesbitt Gallery.  She chose to publish a magazine, which she entitled “Expedition”.

“Expedition” is a men’s fashion magazine with just over 30 pages filled with photo features, said Carter.  The pages will be enlarged to view in the gallery and will be open to view until the night of graduation, Friday 13.

After enjoying an internship with Marie Claire magazine and working on women’s fashion, Carter said she decided to challenge herself by working with the men’s side of it.  “I’ve always loved men’s fashion, specifically European fashion,” said Carter.  She then decided to incorporate that into her show.  “I loved all the elements that go into making a magazine look amazing,” she said.

“It feels amazing to come this far,” said Carter.  At USAO, Carter played soccer for the Lady Drovers for two years as well as worked four semesters on the Trend.  Originally, she served as the Art Director and Photo Editor.  Then, after leaving to take on a full-time job as a news reporter, she returned to the Trend and served as Editor-in-Chief her last semester.

Carter said she enjoyed working different positions and with different staff members, but this past semester was her most fun and successful time on the Trend.  “I’m excited for its future,” she said.

Carter, a Tulsa native, said she plans to continue working in the Web and Productions department at The Oklahoma City Thunder.  She is moving to the city and is looking forward to “working lots of games and taking photographs,” she said.
