Government Shutdown Making USA Look Ridiculous
October 11, 2013
The government shutdown has not only made the United States government look like a complete joke, as if it hadn’t already, but the shutdown has affected the lives of the families of dead soldiers.
With the government shutdown families of fallen men and women aren’t getting the money they are guaranteed by the “gracious” U.S. government for things such as funeral costs. This blemish on America cannot be undone. Congress, more specifically the tea party, has shown an utter disregard for the ramifications that come with the shutdown.
Now congress members who were in support of a shutdown are claiming they had no idea that the ramifications would be like this. Really congressmen, you didn’t know that shutting down the federal government would create havoc for the troop’s families? It is your job to know. How dare the men in congress in charge of doing a “public service” do something of this magnitude?
Here is an idea, if these men really feel empathy and want to make this right why don’t they finally reopen the government, or better yet why don’t they give the money guaranteed to those families out of their own pocket. The stupidity of these people never fails to amaze.
The most interesting thing about this whole debacle is the fact that while so many people suffer, these men and women continue to be paid during the shutdown. I wonder how it feels to get your paycheck while knowing you took away something from a man’s family who died defending all of us, including you. Maybe the solution to the problem isn’t reopening the government, but possibly removing everyone from congress and replacing them with monkeys. They can’t do any worse. So good job America, continue to set a good example being a beacon of peace, prosperity, and a government that could care less about its own people while you continue to keep your salary.
