Gamer Club Limits Number of Members Due to Limited Resources

If you like to play video games and talking about the gaming civilization, then the USAO Gamer Club may be the right club for you. The club has been active since the spring of 2012, and meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The club’s faculty sponsor is Associate Professor of English Shelley Rees. The club’s elected officers include President James Kiper of Bridge Creek, Co-Vice President Eric Ferguson of Midwest City, Co-Vice President Vaunda Knapp of Ardmore, Treasurer Zachary Bridges of Lindsay, Bethany Larson of Mustang and Cheyenne Roach of Ardmore.

Since the club has limited resources, the executive board stays the same until a seat becomes open, says Kiper. Kiper also said due to the limited resources, the club can only have 28 general members. The club chooses to limit the amount of members because it allows them to manage all of the expensive equipment being used Kiper explained.

“I’m a total gamer and it’s a great way to play games with people who actually wants to play” said Trevor Deuel, a freshman art major. Each meeting has a theme for its members to play and discuss, Kiper said.
