The University of Texas at Brownsville beat USAO 6-2 and handed the Lady Drovers their third loss of the season.

Competing against the number ninth ranked team in the country, the USAO women knew it would be a tough test.

With a result that depicted the Ocelots completely dominating, the USAO women still showed heart and determination.

After returning from a year of absence, starting goalkeeper Addie Lee recorded 14 saves, with 38 shots-on-goal.

The Drovers failed to produce any offensive attacks in the first half. However, USAO gained a little momentum in the second half when Jade Ovendale, a junior from Wisbech, England scored an unassisted goal in the 49th minute. Linda Addo, a returning starter from last season, scored the Drovers’ second goal in the 60th minute off of a pass from Ovendale.

The Lady Drovers go on the road to Friends University on Sept. 10 and come back to face McPherson College at home on Sept. 14.
