You normally don’t see tornadoes this time of year, but coming Oct. 4, Twisterfest will touchdown in Chickasha.
Presented by Muscle Car Ranch, Twisterfest is a two-day event filled with music, a bonfire, pro wrestling tournament, food trucks, vendors, and a classic truck show. The event begins Oct. 3 and goes through Oct. 4.
Muscle Car Ranch sits on a total of 90 acres of land two miles southeast of the University of Science and Art of Oklahoma (USAO).
Curtis Hart, owner of the Muscle Car Ranch, started TwisterFest back in 2015 after the success of prior festivals at his ranch. The goal of TwisterFest is to give the community of Chickasha a music festival they won’t forget.
“Tell everyone to come on out and enjoy,” said Hart.
Music starts at 4 p.m. on Friday with the cost for a day pass being 10 dollars, but with your USAO student ID, you get in free.
There will be multiple stages meaning many artists to keep the music going all day long. These are just five of the 50-plus acts: Aqua Fire, Briegade, The BAD Band, Beggees Whiskey, Hammer Lane Hippies. There will be music ranging from rock to country.
If music is not your jam, well you are in luck. You can never go wrong with food and treating yourself to something from a number of food trucks and vendors all festival long.
Cecile Robinson, USAO’s own chef, will also be out at TwisterFest. Robinson will be selling his smoked barbecue that the USAO community talks nonstop about.
If you have a love for old trucks, or you have one yourself, the classic truck show is for you. There will be showcases involving trucks from 2007 and older and another category for newer models and super trucks. The official Cruise-In is on Friday at 6 p.m. but the show will begin on Saturday at 8 a.m.
Live Texoma Pro Wrestling is bringing the energy to TwisterFest. The can’t-miss matches will be on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Of course it would not be TwisterFest without its traditional bonfire. There will be a mini bonfire on Friday and a bigger one that is three times as large on Saturday night.
