Beginning this Tuesday, Sept. 23, through Sept. 30, the City of Chickasha will have crews working on roads around town. USAO students should be aware as some of the road closures will affect your normal commute.
According to a press release sent by the City of Chickasha, crews will mill and pave roads throughout town, and as a result, certain roads will be closed for a short period of time.
“Crews will begin milling and paving work beginning Tuesday, September 23. Citizens should expect road closures while work is being performed.”
Four streets are receiving much needed road attention, including:
- 17th Street from Alabama to Grand and from Iowa to Grand
- 19th Street from Idaho to Alabama
- 14th Street from Iowa to Grand
- 13th Street from Missouri to Tennessee
The press release also gave information on when the roads will be closed and for how long:
- Tuesday, September 23 and Wednesday, September 24: 17th Street from Alabama to Grand and 19th Street from Idaho to Alabama
- Thursday, September 25 and Friday, September 26: 17th Street from Iowa to Grand
- Monday, September 29: 14th Street from Iowa to Grand
- Tuesday, September 30: 13th Street from Missouri to Tennessee
To all USAO students, whether you’re a commuter or not, these closures will be important to remember as you may not be able to travel the way you normally would. The last day of road closures will be Sept. 30 and the closest roads to campus should be finished by Sept. 26.
