This Thursday, April 10, USAO will be hosting the annual Student Showcase in the ballroom from 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.
Every April, the Student Showcase highlights and displays the work that USAO students have done throughout the year. The showcase is dedicated to bringing campus together to uplift the creative and academic works of all students.
Taking place in two parts; the showcase begins first with live performances including skits, music, and oral presentations. Next, works such as research and artwork will be on display for spectators to view.
The event is being led by USAO’s own Assistant Professor of Biology Joshua Hakala. Hakala is the chair of the student showcase committee and has been working hard to make this showcase possible.
Hakala believes the showcase is a good professional development opportunity for students to gain experience presenting and answering questions about their work. The showcase can be put on students’ resumes or curriculum vitae.
This is the second showcase to happen in person since the pandemic. Hakala hopes to get more students involved and interested in the showcase.
“We’re trying to bring [the student showcase] back into the public consciousness,” said Hakala.
The 2025 showcase is free for students and guests of all kinds. To see what other students are up to on USAO’s campus, stop by the ballroom from 4 p.m.- 6p.m. and hear their stories.
