Don’t be spooked, but Halloween is rapidly approaching and USAO’s campus is ready for the fright. The university encourages students, staff, and faculty to embrace the spirit through various social events and dressing in costumes Thursday, Oct. 31.
Art Wrecker, located at 222 W Chickasha Ave., is hosting a Halloween costume and runway Thursday, Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. called Creature Feature. Participants need to register to compete for a chance to win over $500 in prizes. SAB is hosting its annual Monster Mash party after the Art Wrecker event in the ballroom from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
President Kayla Hale said she is excited to get into the spirit by surprising the campus with her Halloween costume. Before Dr. Hale announced what her costume was, The Trend asked students what they thought she would dress up as.

“I think President Hale is going to be Marilyn Monroe.”

Dr. Hale embodied a university symbol for Halloween as she dressed up as Minerva. Sharon Greene, executive assistant to the president, dressed as the owl’s keeper. She’s covered in feathers and has an antique bird cage with an owl inside. President Hale’s costume was partially made by the wife of Dr. David Evans, vice president of academic affairs, as she created the belt for the costume.
