Editor-in-Chief Daniel Buster extends his thanks to USAO and its student body for recognizing his accomplishments at the 4th annual Drover Awards

Daniel Buster, Editor-in-Chief

Congratulations USAO, we’ve made it to the last full week of classes!

This week on The Trend, we introduce Laura Barrios Bardi with a photo essay covering Friday night’s soccer match against MACU. Bardi has worked as a sports photographer in the Sports Information department since the spring, and we are incredibly excited to showcase her work here.

Paul Tointigh also reports on USAO’s Choir and Concert Band, who will perform their fall concerts this weekend. One of the joys of university is the opportunity to experience the performing arts as presented by our peers, so this is something you do not want to miss!

Finally, Harry Cracknell wrote an article explaining one of the newest classes offered by the Communication department, Podcasting (COMM 2902). Originally offered as an independent study, this class offers students the opportunity to learn valuable employability skills, such as interviewing skills.

I’d also like to extend a huge thanks to the institution and the student body of USAO, for the support I have have been given over the last three years. I have always said that my accomplishments are not mine alone, as we all stand on the shoulders of others. So, a huge thanks to all of you who contributed to my nomination for the John H. Feaver Award!

Best of luck this week, be sure to rest well and study up!

Daniel Buster is a fourth-year Communications major at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.
