Rodeo Rides into Chickasha!

            It’s that time of the year again, Chickasha! This weekend the Chickasha Rodeo is coming to town. Dust off your boots and make sure to shape your cowboy hats. It is sure to be nights of entertainment.

The rodeo will be held at the Grady County Fairgrounds located at 500 E Choctaw Ave. The events will go from 8 pm to 10 pm on both Friday and Saturday.  Price of admission is $8 per person and $4 for kids under six years old. There are advance tickets at Hicks, located at 410 W Choctaw Ave.

This is a two-day open rodeo with contestants from around the area competing for prize money. The events will be bull riding, bucking horses, calf roping, double mugging, junior and senior barrel racing, and breakaway roping. For the younger cowboys and cowgirls, there is calf scramble and mutton busting. As well as a special act called the “Buffalo Blanks” a mounted shooting act.

Randy Brown, the treasurer of the Chickasha Rodeo Foundation, made some comments about the upcoming rodeo,

“The rodeo is a night of entertainment for the whole family at a low cost.”
