Singing in the choir, creating pottery, and taking quality photos are all things the University of Science and Arts wants students to do to channel their creativity. To that end, there is art, video production, creative writing, music, digital photography, and even theatre arts.

A fan favorite that fills up almost instantly is pottery on the wheel. The class is taught by associate professor of art Layne Thrift, who has been teaching pottery on the wheel for 18 years.

“With pottery you can be as artistic as you want to,” Thrift said.

Another class that is popular is Digital Photography. In photography you can show the world what you are seeing. Savannah Allredge said she really likes the course and teacher Chad Eggar.

“He explains everything very clearly and I like his sense of humor,” Allredge said.

Eggar said that he was also enjoying the course.

“The opportunity came up and I happily accepted the offer, and I love helping others be creative in their own ways ” Eggar said.
