Club renewals and registrations are going online.
According to Student Life Coordinator Casey Ritter, the change to a digital format “helps minimize exposure of students and faculty to Covid-19.” Ritter said “…it is easier to organize and keep the papers for clubs all in one central location.”
USAO currently has 32 student clubs on campus.
“New clubs can be registered at any time,” Ritter said.
Renewing a current club or registering a new one is simple. First, clubs need a constitution and a list of bylaws. Ritter said she sent out an example to every student’s USAO email. However, she says students can get a copy of these guidelines from Student Services.
New clubs need four students interested in becoming members, while established clubs need four active members.
Lastly, clubs need to have a faculty or staff advisor.
Club representatives will fill out an online form with required information which goes directly to Student Services. Student Services will check all the information submitted. Club representatives may be contacted to ensure the information submitted is accurate, but it’s that easy!
Ritter said that student clubs “will still be independently led and organized,” but if they want help, she and Student Services will assist in whatever they need help with.
