It’s the time of the year when college students begin cramming for final exams and preparing to return home for the holidays.
For USAO, finals week falls on the first week of Dec. Students will have three days for Thanksgiving Break, come back for finals week, and then will be out for a six-week long Christmas/Winter Break.
This setup for finals week can be better, worse, or indifferent for these students. Here are the opinions of finals week from five randomly selected students.
Rheanna Harbison, freshman business and biology double major.
“Personally, finals week is a little crazy for me because I don’t have a final, so I’m just going to be here and I’m not going to be doing anything.”
Jenna Hamburger, sophomore biology and environmental science major.
“I was going to try my hardest to be very prepared for all of my finals. I have a lot this year, so just to make sure that I’m very prepared and I feel good about each one of them, and I try my best on all of them, and that’s the best I can do.”
Patrick Zinn, senior biology and environmental science double major.
“My classes are probably the worst classes to take together this semester. It’s been deemed the holy trinity by the Austin Hall people of taking physics.”
Trinity Chatman, sophomore communication major and museum studies minor.
“Finals week is like the most stressful thing ever, especially when your test is on the last day. It is the very last thing you have to do before you go home so you stress about it until the day that you’re leaving.”
Mallory Emerson, senior history and psychology double major and liberal arts minor.
“I appreciate that finals week has a bit of an alternative schedule to allow students to take more time to study and prepare for their final exams.”
