Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day, Drovers! The Trend and I hope that you enjoy the day in whatever form you deem acceptable. Whether it’s a chill day with your significant other, a self-care day for yourself, or maybe even a day spent with friends. I believe the most important thing to take a moment and think about all of your loved ones and make sure they know just how much you love them.

Who can believe that this is week six of the trimester? We are already a third of the way through this spring, so hopefully everyone has fallen into their routines. This week The Trend has several articles on the docket.

Gabi Merchen returns with an interview with David Duncan, instructor of digital media technology, over the recent funding he gained. Duncan has purchased several new pieces of technology. How will this impact his classes and what new technology can we expect?

Later in the week, Thomas Buchanan sketched out two new comics for viewers to enjoy. Paul and I both got a chuckle out of the comics, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts too.

Finally, to wrap up the week, Gisela Alsono publishes her first article. As an original Taylor Swift fan, she reviews Swift’s latest album. Will it receive Alsono’s mark of approval?

As The Trend’s staff continues to grow, do not fret because we always have more spots to fill. If you have an idea for an article or see something around campus that catches your attention, we ask that you bring it to our attention as well. Our email is: trend@usao.edu. This is the easiest way to contact us! We are also active on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Make sure to check out our “About Us” page on our website to find all of our handles and office location.

Our next meeting will be February 20th at 4:10 p.m. in Nash Library’s Music Pocket. We would love to see you there!
