Noelle Thrasher urges potential viewers to have a hand to squeeze if they watch M. Knight Shyamalan’s latest movie.

M. Night Shyamalan’s new film, Split, is filled with suspense that will leave you leaping out of your seat when you see his new big twist. This movie definitely holds true to Shyamalan’s other works with misunderstood characters, humor lined in the suspense, and of course, some plot twists.
The plot follows three girls as they have been kidnapped by a man with 23 different personalities. As they are trying to escape, a 24th and most insidious personality is set to emerge. The plot holds your attention throughout the whole film as the three girls encounter both creepy and nice personalities. James McAvoy does an outstanding job literally playing multiple characters as each personality is really its own.
Though being PG-13 there are some intense implied subject matter that could make many uncomfortable. Despite the implied history of Anya Taylor-Joy’s character, Casey, it is pertinent to the character development.
Split has already set the bar very high for suspense movies for 2017. This movie will leave you wanting to rewatch to catch the things you missed the first time. I highly suggest seeing this movie, just make sure you have a hand to squeeze when the suspense gets to be too much.
