As the oval began to really fill up, Trend reporter Mandy Cecil went out to find out what students were up to and what they were enjoying during Droverstock.

Lori Wenninger, junior fine arts major, said, “ I participated in the Rock Island Arts Festival last year and I plan on attending this year. It is a great place for artist like me to display their work and get wonderful public feedback.” She also said, “ that the festival was very well organized and had plenty of entertainment last year with a variety of live music.”...

While many of the clubs around school pride themselves on educating their members between bouts of dazzling their socks off, Jacob Seabolt’s COPAHOB. (shorthand for “Coalition Of Peoples Against the Hegemony Of Boredom”) proudly thumbs its nose at any semblance of viability. His club’s charter is to relieve boredom Friday nights from 7 p.m. to midnight, with movies of the members’ choosing.

As USAO continues to grow and remain an influence on the local economy, many areas businesses have taken note and began to offer student discounts for those attending USAO. To be validated, one must show their student ID at each of these locations when asking for the discount.

Crazy 8 Cafe, on Main St., offers cold sandwiches with a drink for $4 and hot sandwiches with a drink for $5.

TNT Liquor, in the strip mall across from IBC Bank and First National Bank offers a 10% discount.
